The Falmouth Webcam This webcam has been live for around 5 years now. It is an older style serial camera controlled by software on the pc. Image quality is 640x480 pixels. This camera was originally installed to help promote the town of Falmouth and its harbour. Feedback received shows it is viewed by those who have moved or live away as a window on home, by sailors to see what the weather is like, and even by Ferry companies watching the maintenance progress on their ferries as they come into the docks and out again.
The Praa Sands webcam This webcam went live in early November 2004. It is a modern IP camera, connected by network cable directly to the internet via an adsl router. Image quality is also 640x480 pixels. Its purpose is to show the view and location of Chris Old's Clipper Restaurant, assisting in promotion of restaurant, and to give surfers and holiday makers a way to check the conditions before travelling to Praa Sands. |
